Kaboom Town Features More Than Fireworks
ADDISON (CBSDFW.COM) – One of the biggest and best fireworks displays in the country is set to light up the skies on Tuesday night. Kaboom Town in Addison is known for its legendary Independence Day celebration, but the annual festivities stretch well beyond fireworks. The event kicks off with high-flying airplane tricks, and revelers can also partake in live music, delicious food and projects for the children.
“This is probably one of our biggest, just in terms of the people,” said Barbara Kovacevich, Director of Special Events with Addison. “Half a million people in four and a half square miles, the exposure for the town, but our restaurants do a tremendous amount of business on this night as well, so it’s a really big event all the way around for us.”
Kaboom Town starts Tuesday at 5:00 p.m. and runs until midnight at Addison Circle Park, but many places in the Addison area — including several local restaurants and businesses — will be offering their own watch parties and events. And you do not have to be in Addison to enjoy the show. CBS 11 News will be broadcasting live from Kaboom Town during newscasts from 4:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. and the fireworks show will be shown on TXA 21 at 9:00 p.m. — no excuse to not see the awesome display!
