FORT WORTH (CBSDFW.COM) – Rescuers rushed to a community pool in Fort Worth after getting calls to help a child.
Around 3 p.m. calls were placed reporting a possible diving accident at the Woodland Springs neighborhood pool, near Timberland and Old Denton Road.
An off-duty emergency room nurse was in the area when the incident occurred and immediately started CPR on an unresponsive 4-year-old boy.
A 3-year-old girl was was also in the pool at the time of the incident. The girl was never unconscious, but did swallow some water.
The 4-year-old boy had been placed on a ventilator when he was taken to an area hospital by CareFlite helicopter.
The 3-year-old girl was transported to the hospital by ambulance and is said to have been responsive and talking.
There is a sign posted at the pool that says, “no diving” and “no lifeguard on duty”.
