OXNARD, CA (AP) – Dallas Cowboys cornerback Mike Jenkins still hasn’t been cleared to practice with his surgically repaired right shoulder.
Coach Jason Garrett said Tuesday that Jenkins will continue his rehab and then see Dr. James Andrews for another checkup in “a couple more weeks.”
Jenkins was in Florida on Monday to follow-up with Andrews, who performed the surgery soon after last season.
Garrett says the report from the checkup was good and the team wasn’t anticipating that he’d been cleared for practice. The coach says he has guarded optimism that the former Pro Bowler could be back in time to play in a preseason game.
Jenkins was back in camp Tuesday. He says he assumes his shoulder isn’t strong enough yet for practice.
