GRAND PRAIRIE (AP) – Searchers have located the body of a North Texas triathlete who disappeared while training in a Dallas-area lake.
Grand Prairie police say the body of Edward Thompson of Mansfield was recovered Wednesday morning about 50 yards from shore. Police say the preliminary investigation indicates Thompson accidentally drowned.
The 45-year-old triathlete went swimming late Monday afternoon. Police say the search began after Thompson’s wife contacted authorities when he failed to return home Monday night.
