FORT WORTH (CBSDFW.COM) A 15-year-old boy drowned during a pool party at the Lockheed Martin Recreation Area in Fort Worth Friday night.
Lieutenant Carol Jones with the Fort Worth Fire Department fire said firefighters arrived at the pool to find lifeguards performing CPR on the 15-year-old.
The lifeguards told firefighters they had pulled the boy out of the pool and had used their automated defibrillator in an effort to revive him.
Firefighters continued to try to revive him before he was transported by an ambulance to Texas Fort Worth Hospital. He was pronounced dead on arrival.
Medical examiners have since identified the 15-year-old as Rick Sek. CBS 11 News Sek was attending a end of camp pool party for Paschal High School’s band.
A candlelight vigil is being held for Sek at his high school. at 8 p.m. on Saturday
