FORT WORTH (AP) - A 38-year-old North Texas stage actor has been sentenced to seven years in prison after pleading guilty to sexually assaulting an underage girl.
Prosecutors say Randall Sarver of Hurst cultivated a sexual relationship with a 14-year-old girl he met through a theater group in fall 2010.
The girl’s parents reported Sarver to police in August 2011 after arriving home one day and catching him with their daughter. He was indicted on eight counts of sexual assault of a child and freed on bond. However, he was arrested in Oklahoma after he was found stalking the girl at her school.
Prosecutor Kacey Fickes tells the Fort Worth Star-Telegram that Sarver pleaded guilty under an agreement with prosecutors reached after consultations with the girl’s parents.
