COLLIN COUNTY (CBSDFW.COM) - A male nurse in McKinney is going to prison, after being found guilty of Aggravated Sexual Assault of a Child and Indecency with a Child.

A judge sentenced Peter Ellington to 54 years in prison for the first charge and 20 years in prison for the second. It was ruled that the sentences be served consecutively.

Ellington was found guilty of sexually assaulting his 6-year-old step-granddaughter back in 2008.

During testimony at the sentencing hearing evidence was presented showing that Ellington had previously committed domestic violence against two separate girlfriends and had also sexually assaulted one of those women.

Ellington, a registered nurse, had worked at several North Texas hospitals until February of 2010. The 55-year-old also owned and operated an area carpet cleaning business.
