MEDINAH, IL (AP) – Phil Mickelson has set the record for Ryder Cup appearances by a U.S. player.
Mickelson is playing in his ninth Ryder Cup, pairing with Keegan Bradley in the morning foursomes Friday. That breaks the appearance record Mickelson shared with Lanny Wadkins, Ray Floyd and Billy Casper.
Mickelson is the most experienced player on the U.S. team, playing in every Ryder Cup team since 1995. The four-time major champion has a record of 11-17-6 in the Ryder Cup.
