PARKER COUNTY (CBSDFW.COM) – Parker County Sheriff’s Deputies say a recent parolee is responsible for the murder of 47-year-old Linda Preston.
Hector Trejo, 28, has been arrested and is facing capital murder charges. He was recently paroled from the Texas Department of Corrections on a robbery charge. He was arrested on a parole violation.
Preston’s husband found her body in their home, about nine miles north of Weatherford, and called 9-1-1 to report it. He described to dispatchers that his wife’s throat was slashed and her car was missing.
Parker County Sheriff Larry Fowler said the Parkers rented a residence from Trejo’s family members. He says an argument started between Trejo and the victim because he wanted to use her car and she refused.
“The initial investigation indicated the suspect was involved in her death,” Fowler said. “The suspect was subsequently apprehended at an apartment complex near Las Vegas Trail and Calmont Street in Fort Worth.”
According to the Sheriff Fowler, another person could face criminal charges in this case for making a false report to a peace officer.
