I love, love, LOVE fall! As long as I don’t need an umbrella, I will get away from the warmth of a fire and head out to a pumpkin patch any day of the week!
Since it’s been feeling more fall like in the morning and evening, the Dallas Arboretum’s “Pumpkin Village” is the perfect place to take your kids at night after you’ve served dinner, especially on that week when their all home from school for Thanksgiving break! Feed them, put on the warm jackets and walk among the magical pumpkin land. Even if you don’t have kids, there is nothing like a cozy scarf and a walk under the trees and the crunch of fallen leaves.
The Arboretum has a number of gardens worth visiting and until November 5. Famed glass artist Dale Chihuly’s organic themed creations dot the landscape. Enjoy a traditional tea at 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. every weekday featuring menu items such as chicken consommé and clotted cream. The perfect patio gives great views of White Rock Lake for an autumn lunch.
