FORT WORTH (CBSDFW.COM) - There are a lot of events happening across North Texas this weekend, but one promises to be a fantastic stop for great food, spirits and live music. The Dallas Whiskey & Fine Spirits Festival takes over Addison on Saturday. Click here for more information on the event.
One of the festival’s featured musical guests is Marc Toussaint of The Marc Toussaint Combo — one of the most popular jazz bands in the DFW area. Their music is much like that of Frank Sinatra or Tony Bennett. “Swinging, hip, Dean Martin-ish kind of stuff,” Toussaint told CBS 11 News early on Friday morning, when the band stopped by the studio.
Toussaint is originally from Dallas, and described his journey into jazz music as an accident. “My mom listened to Perry Como all the time and I was punished all the time,” he said. “So, I was in time-out all the time listening to Perry Como.”
