So the Mavs beat the Lakers in the season opener Tuesday night.  Was it a trick or a treat you can come to expect from Dallas?  Personally, I think one game is too early to tell but I was impressed with the Mavs effort in their 99-91 win.

Up next is an All Hallow’s Eve affair with the Utah Jazz.  How about a little Mav-tastic  Halloween trivia to impress your friends?

• The Mavericks have done well on Halloween, going 8-1 in the nine games they’ve played on October 31st.
• Their only loss on this frightful day?  Against the Utah Jazz in Salt Lake CIty in 1980.  Adrian Dantley scored 50 points for the Jazz in the win.
• Interestingly, the Mavs and Jazz have met one other time on Halloween.  The year?  1986 in a 103-77 Dallas win at Reunion Arena.

If Dallas beats Utah tonight, it would be the first 2-0 start for the Mavericks since the 2004-05 when they won the first four games of the year.
