FORT WORTH (AP) – A North Texas man has been sentenced to 10 years in prison in a child pornography case linked to his laptop computer seized at a California airport.
Prosecutors say 47-year-old Todd M. Fowler of Arlington was sentenced Tuesday by a federal judge in Fort Worth. Fowler in May pleaded guilty to receipt of child pornography using file-sharing software.
Authorities on May 28, 2011, carried out a search warrant at Fowler’s Dallas-area residence while he flew home from a trip to Hong Kong.
A stopover at San Francisco International Airport led customs agents to seize his computer. Prosecutors say the laptop had been used to download hundreds of child pornography images.
