IRVING (AP) - Injured Dallas running back DeMarco Murray is unlikely to return from a four-game absence Sunday against Cleveland.
Cowboys coach Jason Garrett said Friday that Murray is doing more each day in recovering from a sprained right foot but is doubtful this weekend.
Murray injured the foot while rushing for 90 yards in the first half against Baltimore on Oct. 14. He tried to play through the injury but had just one carry after halftime.
The Dallas running game has struggled since Murray’s injury but had its best game without him last Sunday against Philadelphia. Led by Felix Jones with 71 yards, the Cowboys surpassed 100 yards rushing for the first time in four games. Jones also had an 11-yard touchdown on a screen pass.
