DALLAS (AP) - Dallas Mayor Mike Rawlings is set to give details on how the city plans to commemorate the 50th anniversary next year of the assassination of President John F. Kennedy.

A news conference is set for Tuesday afternoon. A committee of Dallas business and community leaders was formed to decide how to commemorate the assassination.

On Nov. 22, 1963, Kennedy’s motorcade was on a parade route through downtown Dallas when he was assassinated while passing the Texas School Book Depository. The Warren Commission that investigated the president’s death concluded that Lee Harvey Oswald, firing at Kennedy’s motorcade from the sixth floor of the depository, acted alone.
