BEDFORD (CBS 11 NEWS) - It’s 80 degrees outside and that makes it hard to get into the Holiday spirit.
So we went to see Donna Moss, owner of “That’s Haute” in Bedford to get us in the Christmas spirit, some gift ideas, and tree decorating tips.
The first secret Donna shared was a quick and easy way to use baskets as gifts. Whether you buy inexpensive or expensive items a basket with tooling and a bow makes the gift extravagant.
Next, Donna shed some light on a common problem with Christmas trees.
“Everyone has this problem, or at least I do, when get the tree decorated and a strand of lights go out. Instead of entirely taking everything off and starting over, we added little chandeliers to light the tree so you have your lights but you don’t have to go in and change everything out. How unique and the trend is to really use large ornaments anyway.”
You can also use heirlooms to decorate your trees. An elegant way is to make bows and attach broaches to the center of the bow.
Here’s Donna’s advice, “Whether you want something whimsical or a little more elegant you have to think of what theme you want to portray on your tree and just go for it.”
You can also see Donna on her show “Donna Decorates Dallas” on HGTV. Her new season begins in January.
