DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) – It’s another Final Four competition, but this one involves college mascots—and Texas Tech’s Raider Red is still in the running.
Raider Red took second place out of 16 mascots in the regular season voting. The competition has now moved to the playoffs, which are a single-elimination vote with two rounds remaining.
Raider Red is up against the University of Miami’s Sebastian the Ibis. The other semi-final has Colorado State against South Carolina, or Cam the Ram versus Cocky.
The competition has taken place each year since 2002. Last year’s winner was Wolfie Jr out of the University of Nevada.
The Capital One National Mascot of the Year is determined by internet voting. Fans can vote an unlimited number of times at CapitalOneBowl.com/vote.
Twitter voters can also use the hashtag #CapitalOneRaiderRed to vote for Red Raider.
