2013 is starting on a cold note.  Temperatures today barely made it into the 40s thanks to all the cloud cover we saw.  Get used to the cloud cover.  We are looking at mostly cloudy skies for the next several days.  There will be a few breaks in the clouds at times, but mainly clouds will dominate the sky.  It really won’t be until Sunday until we see a good deal of sunshine.

TONIGHT:  A chilly night on tap with temperatures dropping to just below freezing for most locations.

TOMORROW:  Cloudy again and another chilly day with temps in the low to mid 40s for highs.  Winds will be light out of the NW at 5-10 mph

The upper level pattern over the Central US features a stalled out upper level disturbance.  This will hang around for the next several days resulting in cloudy skies across Texas.  Another upper level disturbance dropping down over California will slowly move into the Plains by Friday into Saturday.  This will mean cloudy skies all the way thru Saturday.

That low over California as mentioned above will be closer on Friday night into Saturday.  We could see a little light drizzle mixed with light sleet and even possibly flurries Friday night into Saturday.  The precipitation looks to be very light so no major impacts are expected.  But the system will be watched closely.

Chilly weather continues thru Saturday with a little bit of a warm up by early next week.
