DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) – The westbound lanes on Interstate-635/LBJ Freeway, near Galleria Dallas and the Dallas Tollway, were reduced to one lane for several hours Monday.
Police cordoned off an area near the Dallas Parkway exit after someone jumped from the overpass onto the interstate. Dallas police confirmed a man did jump from the bride at the Dallas Tollway and 635 interchange. Officials say no vehicles on the roadway below hit the man. Officers from the Dallas Police Department and Dallas Fire rescue units remained at the scene for hours.
The man, whose name has not been released, was transported to a local hospital. His condition is unknown.
Before 3 p.m. traffic in the construction area near Galleria Dallas had already backed up past US 75/Central Expressway. The roadway was completely reopened just before 4:00 p.m.
