BALCH SPRINGS (CBSDFW.COM) - Police in Balch Springs are searching for a serial robbery suspect. The crimes all took place at apartments located in the 4300 block of Shepherd Lane. The man has struck at least four times, and displayed a semi-automatic handgun during at least one of the offenses.
According to authorities, the man approached his victims and demanded money and possessions — including their wallets, purses, phones and even a television. Even when he did not show a gun, he held his hands in such a way that led victims to believe that he was armed. For this reason, police said that the suspect should be considered dangerous.
The suspect has been described as a black male in his early 20s, about 5 feet 9 inches tall and 150 to 180 pounds. Police believe that he lives near the area where the crimes took place, because he always flees on foot.
Anyone with information regarding this case is urged to contact the Balch Springs Police Department at 972-557-6014. There may be a reward from Crime Stoppers for information that leads to the suspect’s arrest and indictment.
