DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) – There are more personnel changes happening in the Dallas Independent School District (DISD).
Wednesday morning Superintendent Mike Miles announced the resignation of the district’s chief financial officer. Dr. Rene Barajas has accepted a new position as the Garland ISD deputy superintendent.
Barajas had only been with the DISD since January and had accepted the DISD position after serving as the Garland ISD Chief Financial Officer for five years.
In a press release statement Superintendent Miles said, “While we are certainly disappointed to lose Rene, I understand the opportunity this represents for him. Garland is his home and he’ll be the great asset to them he always was.”
As Garland CFO Dr. Barajas had a salary of $120,460. No word on how much he will be making in his new position.
Of his new job Barajas said, “I am looking forward to this new role with Garland ISD which will provide me opportunities and challenges which reach beyond finance.”
Executive Director of Budget Services James Terry has been named Interim DISD Chief Financial Officer.
Miles said the search for Barajas’ replacement will begin immediately.
