Man Shoots Ex-Wife & Another Man Outside Hurst Home

HURST (CBSDFW.COM) – A man thought to be upset over an ended relationship opened fire on his ex-wife and another man outside of a house in Hurst on Sunday night.

Police and paramedics were called to the home in the 700 block of Thousand Oaks Drive at Oak Creek Drive after 10:00 p.m. Sunday. When they arrived, they found a man and woman with multiple gunshot wounds in the front yard.

Despite their injuries, they and witnesses were able to identify the man who had shot them as 32-year-old Lenar Corales.

Corales was found a short distance away and was taken into custody. He now faces capital murder charges. “We’re collecting evidence, processing the scene, detectives are interviewing witnesses and talking to the person we have detained, and trying to pull it all together and wrap everything up,” said Lt. Mark Schwobel with the Hurst Police Department.

The man and woman, whose identities haven’t been released,  were taken to a local hospital and are in serious condition. Despite their serious injuries, police expect the two to survive.
