DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM/AP) – Overnight storms in the DFW area and West Texas have left tens of thousands of homes and businesses without electricity.
Electric provider Oncor reported about 25,000 customers in North Texas without power just before 6:30 a.m. on Thursday morning. Crews worked to restore electricity amid rainy conditions.
Oncor also had scattered outages in the Midland and Odessa areas, and more than 500 customers of Lubbock Power & Light were without electricity following storms in West Texas. AEP Texas reports nearly 800 customers losing power in the Abilene area.
The National Weather Service said that storms are likely to continue Thursday in central and north parts of Texas.
