DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) – A Dallas County School Bus Driver is the target of an internal investigation after it was revealed that she was trying to collect money from students.

The Dallas County School District confirms the unnamed female driver has been put on leave for allegedly sending a note home with students from W.E. Greiner Middle School that asked them for $20 each.

Reports say the note indicated that the money was to be used for a party. One of the parents, Stephanie Sierra, thought that was strange, expensive and vague.

Sierra says, as far as she can tell, no party was ever organized.

A spokesman for the Dallas County School district refused to answer questions about the matter, other than to confirm the driver has been placed on leave.
