It’s been hot and it will continue to be hot for the remainder of the week, but there is a possibility of a cooldown and some rain over the weekend.
Another hot day in store for North Texas. Highs across the area will be in the upper 90s.
There is a very SLIGHT chance of rain today. Much of the metroplex only has a 10% chance. The counties across the Red River have a better shot at rain, but still only a 20% chance.
We are under a ridge of high pressure and that is bringing us this hot weather. As we head into the latter portion of the week, temperatures will be climbing above 100° across much of North Texas.
The pattern shifts this weekend as the high pressure system moves off to the west and a trough moves through the area bringing cooler temperatures and a chance for some much-needed rain. Unfortunately, there is only a slight chance of storms and temperatures will remain in the low to mid 90s.
Over the next several days, high temperatures will around or above the century mark. Temporary relief may be provided over the weekend, but temperatures warm back up as we head into the middle of the week.
