ARLINGTON (CBSDFW.COM) – Cherry Tree Residential Services, which operates eight residential homes for 23 special needs adults in the Dallas-Ft. Worth area is under investigation after a man died while in their care Thursday.
The 29-year-old man, who had the cognitive and physical capability of a child, was found inside a hot car in front of the facility on Eldorado St. He had been in the car for several hours.
“For some reason the deceased was left in the vehicle, when it came back to the group home. The afternoon person got in the car at 3 p.m. and noticed the victim was in the back seat,” said Arlington police spokeswoman Tiara Richard.
Authorities have not yet released the name of the man and no one has been charged. The medical examiner has yet to determine a cause of death.
