Today was the 11th day this year of triple digit heat at DFW Airport. It wasn’t quite as humid as it has been the past couple of days, so heat index values stayed just below 105°. The HEAT ADVISORY will be allow to end at 7pm Saturday evening and another one will not be issued for Sunday at this time.

Our big high pressure ridge will stay anchored over Texas for the upcoming week. Temperatures will go up a few more degrees by the start of the work week and so we may see the HEAT ADVISORY back by Monday or Tuesday.

KTVT Standard

Even though there’s no HEAT ADVISORY on Sunday, still don’t overdo it. Highs will still be in the triple digits over most of North Texas.

We are expecting the high pressure ridge to weaken a bit by the end of next week, allowing a cold front to get close to us. Some computer models are thinking the front will actually slide through, which would result in much cooler temperatures for next weekend. At this point, we’ll expect temperatures to fall shy of 100° by Friday…hopefully we can continue the downward trend.
