Most of Texas remains in a drought, but the rain from last Friday did help some.  Most areas that were in Extreme Drought (bright red) have now shifted back into Severe Drought (orange).

Below you can see on the statewide map how much of the red shading has disappeared.

Below are some of the numbers.  80% of the state remains in a drought, but the extreme drought dropped from 25% to 8%.

Here is a close up look at the status of the drought in North Texas.  Most of the area is in severe drought, but now very few of us are in Extreme drought.



Most of the state saw appreciable rain last week.  But it only raised the amount of water in all Texas Reservoirs by just over 1%.
