Turning Breezy & Colder Friday Night

by CBS11 Meteorologist Jeff Jamison

We’ve been experiencing a few passing showers during the day Friday.  Isolated showers will continue throughout the evening for high school football games…nothing heavy or widespread.

Here’s a look at 7pm this evening…notice a few spotty light rain showers ahead of a cold front, which is moving SE toward to the DFW area.

By 10pm or so, the front should be moving through the Metroplex.  You’ll notice the wind shift to the north and pick up to 10-20 mph and gusty.  Slight rain chances will continue.

After 10pm, we should quickly clear out, but stay breezy and chilly.  Bundle up if you’re out late or up early on Saturday!

After a brisk start to Saturday, the rest of the day should be beautiful, with lots of sunshine.  Perfect weather for the Fort Worth Alliance Air Show.  It will be a bit breezy, especially Saturday morning and Sunday afternoon.  But no rain is expected this weekend.

Next week looks pretty quiet for North Texas’ weather.  There will be a very slim chance of rain on Monday, but doesn’t look like much at all.  Temperatures will continue on the mild side next week as well.
