DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) – Former Dallas Cowboys cornerback and current NFL analyst Deion Sanders may be suiting up to play in the 2014 NFL Pro Bowl in Hawaii according to a tweet he sent to his followers Monday afternoon.
The 46-year-old tweeted he will “suit up in Hawaii” and to “Let Jerry Rice know that a real captain leads by example.”
Whether he is talking about wearing an actual uniform and strapping on the pads one last time, that is to be determined.
The last time Sanders donned an NFL uniform was in 2005 with the Baltimore Ravens.
Sanders and NFL legend Jerry Rice are the captains/coaches for this year’s NFL Pro Bowl as the league is trying to make the much maligned game more engaging by having these hall of famers have an actual ‘draft’ for their respective teams.
The 51-year-old Rice has yet to respond to Sander’s recent jab on if he will join him in the stunt or not. Rice last played 2004 with the Seahawks.
The two will draft their teams on the NFL Network at 8:00 pm on Wednesday January 22.
