Flower Mound PD Searching For High Dollar Residential Jewel Thieves
FLOWER MOUND, Texas (CBSDFW.COM) – Police in Flower Mound are trying to figure out who’s been targeting area homes and making off with rare and expensive jewelry.
Investigators say the thieves are targeting neighborhoods in there area where the victims are mostly of Asian or Indian descent.
Captain Richard Brooks with Flower Mound police says the criminals break in and take the gold jewelry that have a religious and cultural importance to the victims. He says the thieves naturally are stealing other items too.
Since the first quarter of 2014, eight of these types of residential burglaries have been reported. Police have held two community meetings to talk about ways for the residents to protect their homes.
Flower Mound Police are currently working with other law enforcement officials in Dallas, Fort Worth and federal law enforcement partners to identify trends, patterns and potential suspects.
