DALLAS, Texas (CBSDFW.COM) – A legend in the music business has deteriorated to the point where he has to be moved to an Alzheimers Care facility.
Doctors diagnosed 77-year old entertainer Glen Campbell with Alzheimer’s disease three years ago.
According to reports he was moved to an Alzheimer’s facility last week. “I’m not sure what the permanent plan is for him yet. We’ll know more next week,” a family friend told the media.
After hearing the news about his disease in 2011, Campbell released a new album called “Ghost on the Canvas” and went on one final tour all over the country because he wanted to sing his farewell while he still could. On that final tour, three of his children joined him in his backup band.
During his 50 years in show business, Campbell has released more than 70 albums and has sold 45 million records.
