DALLAS, Texas (1080 KRLD) – Here is a short list of great things to do around DFW this weekend.
If you dig being out on the lake, you need to check out this weekend’s (July 11-13) DFW Summer Boat Expo at Dallas Market Hall. This is the largest boating event in North Texas featuring more than 450 boat and watercraft models from over 20 North Texas boat dealers.
The Texas Coin Show is happening this weekend at the Grapevine Convention Center (July 11-13). This thing will feature 70 dealers, free parking, and they will have 3 gold coin drawings.
I have loved this band since the first time I heard “Killer Queen” on the radio back I the mid ‘70’s. If you are a Queen fan, be sure to be at the American Airlines Center Thursday July 10th for Queen with Adam Lambert.
John Corabi…the short-lived replacement vocalist for Motley Crue is doing an acoustic show Thursday July 10th at Trees.
The ‘Guitar Gods 2014 Tour’ is coming to the House of Blues Dallas Thursday July 10th. See the one and only Yngwie Malmsteen along with Gary Hoey.
This guy is the soundtrack of your life if you were born in the 1960’s and were in high school in the late 70’s and early 80’s. Check out Lionel Richie at Gexa Friday July 11.
The Summerland 2014 Tour is happening Friday, July 11th. Check out Everclear, Soul Asylum, Eve 6 and Spacehog live at South Side Ballroom in Dallas.
Johnny Lee had the biggest tune from the movie “Urban Cowboy” and you can see him Friday July 11th at Billy Bob’s Texas.
And on Saturday July 12th, you can see another country music great Gary Allen at Billy Bob’s.
Saturday July 12th at Lonestar Park it is the 2014 Spring Thoroughbred Season closing day. This is your last chance to watch live racing during the 2014 Spring Thoroughbred Season.
If you dug the tunes “Candy Girl,” “Cool It Now” and “Mr. Telephone Man” and later you loved Johnny Gill’s “Rub You the Right Way” and Bobby Brown’s “My Prerogative”…you will want to be at Verizon Theatre in Grand Prairie this Saturday night July 12th for the “All Six Summer 2014 New Edition” tour.
This weekend (July 11-13), it is the Taste of Dallas at Fair Park. Over the course of 3 days, thousands of hungry north Texans will partake of awesome food while digging on some great tunes.
If you dig all things 80’s rock…check out one of the best 80’s metal tributes around. Metal Shop is playing Trees Saturday night July 12.
Legendary singer Lee Greenwood is playing Arlington Music Hall Saturday night July 12.
Saturday night July 12th is another edition of the Dallas Zoo Safari Nights! Hang out with some of the zoo’s wildest stars, plus enjoy live music from Fastlane, an Eagles Tribute Band.
Also Saturday July 12, you can see Rascal Flatts, Gloriana and Sheryl Crow at GEXA Pavilion.
The Parker County Peach Festival is happening Saturday July 12 at Historic Downtown Square in Weatherford. Over 200 art, craft, and food vendors will take part in this one day festival.
Love the scientist, love the car and love the band. Check out dudes with the cool tunes named after the coolest scientist and inventor of all time. It is Tesla at the House of Blues Dallas Tuesday July 15th.
And one of these bands probably got you into rock music in the 1970’s…and the other kept you there through the 80’s. You wanted the best…You got the best! Its KISS and Def Leppard this Sunday July 13th at Gexa Pavilion.
