It’s still bad out there in terms of the drought.  Just about all of North Texas is under some sort of drought condition.  The only exception is the area southeast of the DFW Metro, but even there it’s “abnormally dry”.  Without much rain heading into the weekend and early next week, the extreme to exceptional drought will continue its grip in our region.

TEXAS BREAKOUT

We continue with a major deficit of rainfall for the year at DFW.  We’ve only seen a trace of rain for the first third of the month and the yearly deficit is over 10″.  It’s the eighth driest start to a year on record.

RAINFALL UPDATE

There are hopeful signs next week as a strong cold front moves through the area.  This will enhance our rain chances for the middle and end of next week…and bring some very pleasant temps for July.  More on that starting at 4p on CBS11.
