Just before 11AM temps in NTX are comfortable thanks to dry air in place and cooler than average temps.
We will see our shower chance increase today with a stationary front in our southern counties moving back Northward. Take a look at the futuresky forecast through time this afternoon into tonight.
Rain chances increase tonight and then tomorrow we have big changes on the way. An area of Low pressure and cold front will start to approach the S. Plains and in response our moisture content will increase.
Notice how the rain chances are higher out west tonight. That is the area that will start to see the influence of the upper energy working into the forecast. Then Thursday. . .be prepared for wet weather.
An area of low pressure will move near NTX Thursday and then over NTX through the day on Thursday. Look how the radar starts to fill in through the day on Thursday and Friday.
Flooding rains are possible across NTX and a flood watch is in effect from Thursday AM -Friday afternoon for the potential of 2″-4″ of rain across NTX.
Thursday and Friday will be a day to stay with CBS11 for flooding concerns with the wet weather in the forecast. Temps also will be cooler thanks to some cooler air behind the Low pressure and front so enjoy this July treat.
