In August ANY day with low humidity and below-normal temperatures is considered a small victory for those who work or play outside. Last couple of days have offered a brief respite from the usually relentless heat of the eighth month. We squeeze out one more day of moderate conditions before the heat (and humidity) sets back in for the weekend:

Today starts with another cool morning, temperatures are in the 60’s in many locations outside the metro area. We’ll warm up to the upper 80’s by lunchtime and in the mid-90’s by afternoon. Dewpoints will again be in the 50’s:

We have the heat and humidity returning for the weekend. We are watching a disturbance all the way up in Wyoming. We expect it to ride over the top of the ridge of high pressure to our west and slide into the central plains. It’ll get close enough to north Texas to provide some afternoon storms, especially Sunday:

We’ll have to watch out for these storms, they could produce some damaging winds. They’ll be rather isolated however as most us will have dry weather over the weekend:

Here is your extended. Triple-digit highs go into next work week. August. Heavy sigh.
