FORT WORTH (CBSDFW.COM) — Fort Worth Mayor Betsy Price is demanding answers from the workers compensation company in charge of providing benefits to Sgt. Shane Drake.

Price sent a letter to Corvel — saying representatives asked, “inflammatory questions the morning after he was shot.”

She has requested to meet with the company’s CEO on Thursday.

The letter came just a day after Fort Worth police officer Shane Drake was shot in the line of duty.

Betsy Price, the city’s Mayor, wrote it after hearing what happened at Harris Methodist Hospital shortly after the shooting.

“They told me what happened and how upset everybody was,” Price said. “I was furious about it, and I knew council would be also.”

According to officers at the hospital that day, a workers compensation representative with the CorVel Corporation arrived at the hospital to question officers, family members and hospital employees.
