Fly Fishing Festival Coming To Fort Worth

FORT WORTH (CBSDFW.COM) – The Tarrant Regional Water District (TRWD) and Fort Worth’s urban angling community will be hosting a fly fishing festival March 12.

TRWD Flyfest will feature fly fishing, craft beer and wine, live music and food trucks at the Clear Fork of Trinity River. There will also be kid friendly activities such as face painting, a kid fish tank and a rock climbing wall.

Fishers of every skill level are welcome as there will by fly fishing classes through out the day along with demonstrations from fly fishing experts. There will also be contests such as who can catch the biggest trout, or who can catch the most fish in a certain amount of time.

The host from the Trout Unlimited TV show “On the Rise,” Frank Smethurst, and top local anglers will also be making presentations during the festival. They will cover topics such as an introduction to fly fishing, fly fishing destinations, fishing on the Trinity and more.
