Less Heat, More Storms, a Full Moon

Happy Father’s Day! As a gift from mother nature it’ll be a little less humid and slightly cooler today. That doesn’t mean dad has to go work in the yard… it should be his day off by the way:

We have better storm chances over the next couple of days. The big dome of high pressure that created last week’s heat wave has drifted far enough west to open up an easterly flow. This taps into the deeper tropical moisture that sits over the Gulf of Mexico during the summer, increasing our storm chances:

The chance you get a cooling rain is still small but will stick around the next couple of days:

High pressure moves right back over us by the end of next week. This means a return to hot and dry conditions:

This weather pattern looks to hold for awhile. The forecast is for above-normal temperatures over most of the United State all the way to the end of June:

Monthly Outlook

A rare astronomical event on store for the planet tomorrow. The Summer Solstice falls on the same day as the full Moon. Last time that happened was in 1948, the next time will be 2062:

Here is your extended forecast. I hope you get a little rain over the next couple of day!
