Prepare yourself for one of the hottest weekends we’ve had so far this year. A HEAT ADVISORY is in effect for the Metroplex and all counties east for the weekend. The feel-like temperature could hit 108° in some areas. Take plenty of breaks from the sun, drink plenty of water:
A stationary front just to our north just might get close enough to our northeast to get some daytime heating storms going this afternoon. The chances increase on Monday:
The first week of August looks to have a perfect run of 100 degree days across the first seven days. As hot as that sounds it has been worse. Here is a ranking of the ten hottest first seven days of August in DFW. Notice that half of the years on the list have occurred since 2008 (within the last eight years).
We should get enough cloud cover on Tuesday and Wednesday to keep the temperatures down slightly. Rain chances stay small but the best chance for the Metroplex and east will fall on Monday:
