DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) – Klyde Warren Park’s main restaurant, Savor is a modern gastropub that makes it easy to dine and contribute to charity at the same time.

The restaurant in the 5.2-acre deck park is inviting area foodies to join them on their “Charitable Monday” campaign.

Every Monday between 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. Savor donates 10 percent of their proceeds to a local charity. They choose a different charity every month.

“It’s nice to patron a place that supports a local community and charity in general,” said Savor customer Ann Brownlee.

Savor chose to donate to Shumla, an Archealogical Research & Education Center, this month.

“It’s been a huge success. It’s a great fundraiser for the charities and it’s just a way for us to give back to the community,” said a 23-year veteran chef, John Coleman.

Chef Coleman said the restaurant is a very popular staple at Klyde Warren Park. And the Charitable Monday campaign is their way of supporting the community that has supported them since opening three years ago.

“It’s not just how do you do business. It’s who do you support?”

The restaurant’s campaign has lasted 18 months and they have no plans of stopping it any time in the future.
