Women’s trends may take a back seat this season because men’s fall fashions are both inspired and oh-so handsome this fall. Here are some of the top fashion trends for men and where to buy them.
Checks & Plaids
This fall, add some flair to your wardrobe with plaid and checked fabrics. Plaids and checks are super fashionable when worn as a blazer or button-up shirt. If you favor a more subdued look, incorporate these stand-out patterns with a new tie or with a vest layered under a solid blazer.
This plaid Calvin Klein tie is available at Macy’s for $59.50. Pair this tie (in green) with a black vest and grey blazer with dark wash jeans for evening or black slacks for a daytime, professional look.
Chinos look cool this fall as a casual pant option. Styles are shifting from the once popular full leg chino to a slim shape that is inspired by the skinny jean. This style looks best on men that are medium-height and build. If you love this look, but don’t think this shape is right for you, opt for a straight-leg look when selecting your pants.
Don’t be afraid to experiment with color when wearing slim-cut chinos. This pair by Dockers is available at Nordstrom for $78. “Spiced Red” is my favorite color option because it is versatile and pairs well with blue, brown, black or grey.
Double-Breasted Suits & Coats
Over the past few seasons, menswear fashions have focused almost exclusively on two-button options when it comes to outwear and suiting. This season, double-breasted suits and coats make a comeback. This look is both classic and sophisticated. If you just bought new two-button suiting options last fall, don’t stress because you will still be in style. But, if you are in the market for a new overcoat, consider a double-breasted style for a fashion-forward look.
This Double-Breasted Camel Hair Topcoat from Jos. A. Banks is a major investment piece at $595 but will keep you warm and looking handsome all fall and winter.
Button-up denim shirts are a wardrobe must this fall. This all-American look is casually cool when paired with slim chinos or blue jeans in a contrasting shade (exp. light wash shirt with dark wash jeans). While the weather is still warm, select a denim shirt with short sleeves or roll your sleeves at the elbow. As the temperature drops, layer your denim shirt with a casual blazer or cargo jacket.
This dark wash denim shirt is available at J.Crew for $128.00.
What are you fall men’s fashion are you looking forward to?
