Tillman’s elevates the everyday cocktail thanks to a menu designed by their resident cocktail consultant and mixologist, Lucy Brennan. Yes, mixology is a profession, and Brennan is one of the top 5 in the country – and the drinks at Tillman’s are evidence why. Blood orange margaritas are just the start – here are our top 2 picks from the Tillman’s cocktail list:

  • 87 Ways: Tanqueray Ten Gin, fresh lemon/lime juice, simple syrup, apricot puree, peach bitters. Garnished with fresh lavender sprig.
  • Ginger Lemon Drop: Belvedere Cytrus Vodka, Cointreau, fresh lemon/lime juice, simple syrup and sweet ginger puree. Garnished with candied ginger.

If you want to make it a meal, Tillman’s starters (truffled popcorn and fried pickles!) will surely get you through. Then it’s time to trundle down the street to:

Eno’s has a drink menu to suit every taste – unless that taste is for Miller Lite. Their beer list runs the gamut from Texas staples like St. Arnold’s Lawnmower to seasonal specials like Real Ale’s Lost Gold IPA. You want wine? You’ve got wine: local choices from Times Ten Cellars, innovative reds and whites from around the world, and the ever-present house wine list, which is actually halfway decent.

And the cocktails! Eno’s community infused drinks change on a regular basis, with fruit and herb concoctions adding flavor to vodkas, gins and whiskeys. Pair a drink with their truffle cheese bread, and you’ll be ready to head around the corner to:

If you couldn’t tell by the name, Decanter is mainly a wine joint. A novel of a wine list greets you in their cozy bar area, and Decanter’s bartenders serve as knowledgeable guides. Cocktail drinkers, fear not, they’ve got something up their sleeve for you, too. Mixed drinks or custom martinis – whatever your flavor, you can build something to match your tastes.

Drink up, through, because it’s time to hike (or have your designated driver take you) over to our final destination:

The kings of cocktails. The dukes of drinks. The bosses of booze. Titles and honors abound for the bartending and mixology team at Bolsa, who recently relaunched their cocktail menu, with such beautiful concoctions such as:

  • Bottle Rocket: Hayman’s Gin, Grapefruit, Arugula, Pink Peppercorn, Blood Orange Soda
  • Mad Hatter: Seasonal Berries, Tito’s Vodka, Citrus, St. Germain, Champagne

On Wednesdays, Bolsa takes it up a notch with a cocktail challenge, featuring ingredients suggested by the restaurant’s Facebook fans. Recent ingredients include liquid smoke, cherry wood and plum jelly – bottoms up!
