SXSW Has An $315M Economic Impact In Austin

SXSW organizers say a new report they commissioned showed this year’s festival having a $315 million impact on the Austin economy. Officials say 134,000 people attended at least one SXSW event in March.

Grand Jury Indicts Suspect In Deadly SXSW Crash

A grand jury has indicted the suspect in the deadly South By Southwest crash in Austin on capital murder and murder charges. The Travis County grand jury indicted Rashad Owens on one capital murder count and four counts of murder.

Family, Friends Say Goodbye To SXSW Crash Victim

De’Andre Tatum, 18, was laid to rest at Greater Commission Baptist Church Saturday. The teen was one of four people to die as a result of the deadly South by Southwest incident that happened on March 13.

Fort Worth Teen Injured In SXSW Crash Dies

Deandre Tatum, the teenager who had been in a coma at an Austin hospital since the March 13th South By Southwest incident, has now died. He is now the 4th person that has died as a result of the crash.

SXSW Crash Victim Released From Hospital, Back In North Texas

One of the two Fort Worth victims of last week’s deadly South by Southwest crash in Austin is back home in North Texas. Curtisha Davis’ life was turned upside down when an accused drunk driver drove through a crowd at the SXSW Festival.

Young Fort Worth Couple Among Those Injured In SXSW Crash

CBS 11 News learned that a young couple from Fort Worth is among those injured in the Austin crash at the South by Southwest festival. Both remain hospitalized – one in a medically induced coma.
