With both a Wind Advisory and Fire Weather Warning in effect across North Texas, dry, dangerous conditions should be a concern for everyone. Firefighters in Parker County prepared well in advance for days just like today.
Strong winds downed some power lines and cut electricity to parts of North Texas. Oncor reported more than 2,000 homes and businesses without electricity, mainly in Dallas.
Most of North Texas is under a Wind Advisory until 7 p.m. Filtered sunshine and breaks from the clouds are expected, as temperatures heat to near 90 degrees.
The NWS is saying that Friday will be the worst fire weather day North Texas has seen in over two years.
