Q: Great car! Have you had it long? What can you tell us about it?
A: December 2006, before New Year’s Eve. My husband and I love sports cars, like fast cars and stuff. When we moved here from the Philippines, we already knew what we wanted to get. So we got the Evo.
Q: So it was a new home and car all at once?
A: Yeah, except for the new home. We stayed with a relative first for a year or so before we moved to our own house.
Q: And where are you living now?
A: We’re at Fort Worth Texas. From the Philippines we moved to Maryland before we got here and brought a house here in Texas.
Q: What do you like most about living in Texas as opposed to the Philippines or Maryland?
A: Well I guess as opposed to Maryland, it’s the snow. I really hate the winter there. It’s too cold and it’s always snowing. You have to shovel every single time you go out of the house. And as for the Philippines, Texas is kind of like similar in terms of the temperature, so it’s just similar.
Q: OK, so what is your car’s main use?
A: It’s actually our daily driver, but since we both work at home, we only get to use it on the weekends. We’re both in computer programming and web design and blogging. I’m a blogger.
Q: What’s your favorite place to go in your car?
A: We love going on road trips, so any long drive is something we do often. Like we go to Austin sometimes on the weekend. Also this car has driven from here to California, from here to New York and even somewhere in the middle states.
Q: What’s been your favorite road trip?
A: I would have to say going to New York because we’ve driven there twice for New York Fashion Week. Since I’m a fashion blogger, I love New York. So yeah, that was my favorite road trip.
Q: Any memorable stops?
A: I think there was this one time back in Maryland when we were going to Atlantic City and it was raining hard. I was so scared and it was also snowing at the time, so I’m kind of scared of snow and sleet.
Q: If your car had a human emotion or attitude, what would it be?
A: I guess adventurous because we brought this car to racetracks. My husband has done racing at Eagle’s Canyon Racetrack and Motorsport Ranch here in Texas. And there’s one in Ennis I forgot. And plus the roadtrips, so I guess the car would be adventurous.
Q: What’s the fastest you guys have gotten this car up to?
A: Am I going to get in trouble? <laughs>
Q: On the racetrack, where it’s legal?
A: About 140, 150. Legal.
