In the middle of the cold winter or hot summer, there is no more coveted place for moms than indoor play areas. Nothing beats letting the kids run around and burn off energy while enjoying the comfort of a commercial grade heater or AC. It’s also nice to know where you can find a clean, convenient, and actual entertaining indoor play place, so hopefully this list will meet your needs.
Indoor Safari Park - Plano
The Indoor Safari Park is a favorite amongst moms for their diversity of activities for all ages, even for newborns. Packed with tons of safari fun, kids can enjoy a jungle train ride, animal rides, miniature golf, playing and climbing on jungle gyms, ball pits, slides, and a trampoline. There is even a soft, separate play are for little ones that aren’t quite ready for climbing and exploring. Moms love the hours of fun that their kids can enjoy at the Indoor Safari Park. There is even ceramic painting and sand art, a safari store, and concessions. Everything you need to enjoy some fun indoor play.
CBSDFW Insider Tip: Make sure you bring socks. They are required to romp around the play area.
Collin Creek Mall Play Area
For those looking for some free indoor fun, Collin Creek Mall offers a great, non-crowded play area for children to enjoy and caretakers to sit back and supervise. It may not be as glamorous or adventurous as places like the Indoor Safari Park, but there is plenty to keep the little ones entertained. Kids can crawl, climb and run around the enclosed play area, or you can splurge and shell out a couple bucks for the nearby train or spiderjump. The Interactive floor mat is also a kid favorite, and throwing pennies into the fountain could waste a good few minutes and lose change. The convenience of a mall play areas just never get old, especially with Chick-Fil-A nearby.
The Shops At Willow Bend Play Area
The children’s play area at The Shops at Willow Bend is another free alternative to an indoor amusement park. With padded flooring and family restrooms in close proximity, parents love the convenience of this clean, simple play area for kids. It is definitely designed for the younger ones, as older kids might get bored of climbing over giant cartoon characters. It is not a huge area, and can definitely get crowded, but it is an enclosed, free play area nonetheless. Unfortunately, it does not offer all the thrills and extras as Collin Creek Mall.
Abbey’s Playtown
Abbeys Playtown is all about safe fun in a clean indoor environment. Their indoor playground is full of fun toys, ride-ons, slides, playhouses, dress-ups, inflatables and mounting climbing. Basically everything a little kid could want. There is even a toddler area for the little ones. This is a perfect place for open play, scheduling a group play such as a playgroup, or booking a birthday party. Outside food is welcome, or you can purchase a snack. Parents and caretakers will also appreciate the free Wi-Fi while enjoying watching their kids have a blast.
