The Department of State Health Services says you still can’t eat fish caught in the Trinity River.  For years eating fish has been banned from the Trinity River from the Metroplex down to the Freestone/Anderson County line but that was because of pesticides.  Now there is a new reason you can’t eat them.  “Fish contain high levels of PCB’s as well as Dioxins which are dangerous to people if they eat those fish.”  Department of State Health Services Spokesman Chris Van Deusen says this replaces the warnings about pesticides, those levels have actually improved so now you can at least catch fish, but you have to put them back and not eat them.
