DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) – It’s been 20 years but they’re back!

Cast and crew of TNT’s new series “Dallas” came out to celebrate the world premiere Thursday night at the Winspear Opera House. The red carpet was rolled out for the original stars of the iconic CBS series that aired from 1978-1991. Fans were excited to see J.R., Bobby and Sue Ellen (Larry Hagman, Patrick Duffy and Linda Grey) but they screamed equally for the new kids on the block — Jesse Metcalfe, Josh Henderson and Jordana Brewster.

Hundreds turned out to cheer the stars, and 63 media outlets were also in attendance, crowding the red carpet to get all the star-studded coverage.

Considered to be one of the most successful television series of all time, TNT said that they’re thrilled to bring all the old school Ewing family drama back, as well as some new tensions, romance and intrigue.

Unlike the original series, all filming was done locally in North Texas. Producers hope to learn soon if there will be a season two and, if so, hope to return to film an additional 13 episodes in Texas.

Larry Hagman told CBS 11 News that he is happy beyond belief to wear J.R.’s famed Stetson again, and Linda Grey said that Sue Ellen never left her! The new actors said that it only took a few days to feel at home, and all were ecstatic to be reunited for the splashy Dallas premiere!

“Dallas” debuts on TNT on June 15. My money’s on seeing all these folks back on our local streets filming season two by the fall.
