FORT WORTH (CBSDFW.COM) – If you’ve noticed your liquid assets are hovering above the six-figure mark there will soon be a new option for putting that money to use. Park Place Dealerships will build the new showroom on Bryant Irvin Road, in southwest Fort Worth.
Mayor Betsy Price and other city leaders were on-hand for the multi-million dollar project groundbreaking. As Price took a seat in a red Maserati convertible she said the new business is a plus for the city and anyone making a purchase. “The car just has a great feel to it and a great sound, and that Italian leather is pretty awesome.”
Dan Cantrell, the regional vice president at Maserati, told the crowd that in addition their sports car staples the manufacturer is coming out with several new models. “Probably by the end of ‘14, early part of ‘15, is an SUV that will also be a game changer and something that will be again very exciting.”
The new 11,000 square foot facility n Fort Worth will be the third Maserati dealership in North Texas. The chairman of Park Place Dealerships, Ken Schnitzer, said the location is a good fit. “Well, just look around at all the construction that’s going on in this area. You’ve got the new 121 Tollway that’s coming through, this whole residential area — we have a lot of customers currently in this market and we’re really excited about this location.”READ MORE: Former Secretary Of State Colin Powell Dies Of Complications From COVID-19
Mayor Price agreed the move is good for Maserati and good for the residents of Fort Worth. “Cowtown is a growing place,” she said. “Who would have ever thought good old Cowtown would have a Maserati dealership?”
In addition to the new Maserati dealership, set to open next spring, Park Place is also building a new body shop on the same site. The two businesses will create some 30 new local jobs.
In case you’re checking your bank accounts in preparation for the opening, Maserati prices begin above $100,000. The new V8 Quattroporte sedan is priced around $130,000.
